Part One of The Lie is ‘God cannot be trusted, and Part Two is you are less than you are’. The truth is that you are one with Christ and hence once with God and far more than you think. The Tardis is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. In Christ so are you. You are a worker on the outside. Inside you are a son/daughter of God.
BENT FRAME/BENT GOSPEL
The knowledge of good and evil, is an epistemological framework that resulted from this lie that produced the fall. It is the cause of separation and independence from God. It’s why in Adam all are dead and in Christ you are alive. It means that your spirit can be dead even if your body is alive. Christ our life means that we overflow with spirit and life no matter what the state of our bodies.

As a frame of knowledge, the knowledge of good and evil is propositional rather than holistic and rational rather than spiritual. Not that spirituality is non-rational. But it is a state of being one with God that gives rise to authentic knowing. Where Descartes says, ‘I think therefore I am’, the Believer says, ‘In oneness with God I think the truth.”
FALSE SPIRITUALITY
All Christianity based on the law is strangled in adamic epistemology and tends to be transactional rather than spiritual (oneness). ‘Spiritual’ knowledge from the tree of knowledge is distorted knowledge that is religious and not spiritual. Spirituality is a function of union with God. We have this in Christ in whom we are joined to the trinity and they to us.

Whereas Descartes might say, ‘I think, therefore I am’ the person in the Spirit might say ‘I live, move and have my being in God, which gives me confidence to speak in wisdom and the Holy Spirit.
MEANING AND TRUTH
The ‘news’ announced that one million U.S citizens had so far died of covid. People in this society were slow in recognising that covid was real. There’s a brand of conservativism that denies the present because of an obsession with the past. It can deny the truth for the sake of the preservation of the error which provides a false and fatal comfort.
The populist wants something to be true, so nonsense is made into a slogan or meme that appears on Facebook to mislead the naive. Some may attach to conspiracy theories founded or false prophecies or ‘words.’ Or build a community of faith on concocted doctrine. Then again, we can live in the oneness that is ours because we are incorporated into the Being of God in Jesus Christ and so grow in wisdom and understanding. Wisdom is validated by those who have it. Folly is advertised by those who speak it.
THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE
Meaning, per se, takes its authenticity from the being of God, as does scripture. Scripture is rightly interpreted when we are in union with the being of God. In oneness with Christ, we may not all see the issues of life in the same way – but as children of the atonement and incarnation we will all be heading in the direction of life to the full. Not so the children of flaky ideas and nonsense theories who are defeated by their own folly.
JESUS - TRUTH, LIFE AND WAY
‘He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life’ 2 Cor 3.6 NIV. The Spirit also gives light. Jesus is the guarantee of your union with God.
SEEING HOW TO SEE
As new covenant Believers we are one with The Light because Christ has come in our flesh and we are one with God in the person of Jesus Christ. That which we believe shapes the reality that we think we live in. Thus in ‘the letter’ we will tend to treat moralities as things in themselves and in separation from God’s being. But in the Spirit, which means oneness with Christ, we perceive the meaning of the written words in harmony with the Being of the Living Word. Words and statements in scripture have a reality larger than marks on paper because they are a connection to the Reality that is Christ.
‘You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me’ John 5.39 NIV. Jesus Christ is the Frame and ultimate meaning of all scripture.
THE NATURE OF BEING
Thomas Torrance observes of the fundamentalist frame of interpretation, “These beliefs are not applied in a manner consistent with their dynamic origin and nature. Instead of being open to the objective pole of their reference in the continual self-giving of God and therefore continually revisable under its control, they are given a finality and rigidity in themselves as evangelical beliefs and are clamped down upon Christian experience and interpretation of divine revelation through the Holy Scriptures. Thus they are endowed with a fixity at the back of the fundamentalist mind, where they are evidently secure from critical questioning ..on the part of a divine self-revealing which is identical in its content with the very Being of God himself.” Torrance is asserting that the Word that is the sharp, two-edged sword of discernment and wisdom in Hebrews is actually the Living Word who is the Christ of God.
The words of scripture are not just any words. They come by human utterance but their origin is the Being of God which means that when read in Christ, these words are alive with the spirit and life of God Himself. In the post-cross age of atonement and incarnation all may read the Bible in Christ our Light.
IT'S NOT FUNDAMENTALISM
The implication of the trinitarian reality is that knowing God is not merely knowing propositions and proof texts from a position in the law. Why? Because the law is separation from God in Adam/Moses. Knowing God is participating in the Oneness that God is. We can do this because God has reached out and drawn us into fellowship with His being in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is our oneness with God. His Kingdom is personal and Family. Jesus is our inclusion is the trinity as sons/daughters of God. It is by the tree of knowledge and the law that we are separated from God. Take care where you hitch your wagon. It will show but you may not know that it is showing.
ONE SUBSTANCE WITH CHRIST
If the eucharist means anything it means the Believer is one substance with Christ. This is to say food and wine become you and I. Keep in mind that Jesus said, ‘Those who eat Me will live because of Me.’
Being part of the Body of Christ has a meaning that is dependent on our mindset. If we are living from a legalistic mindset the words ‘part of the one loaf’ indicate a legalistic, notional belonging. But this is a ‘belonging’ without much content. If we are actually one with God because we agree with God that God has embraced us in Himself (the trinity) and that we are already included in this Circle, we have a union of being that is similar to the communion that the trinity have with each other. We are not Gods but we are sons/daughters which is a higher order of being than the angels.
The law version of knowledge affords droplets of spirit and life. The oneness with God that is ours in Christ multiplies rivers of living water. The first is the opiate of the people. The last is an infinite measure of spirit and life. Expressed as you.
